Creating The Design

The brightest star in the sky is the inspiration for this design, Sirius. Incidentally, is also a fundamental part of the religion of the Dogon Tribe in Mali.

The system, which to the eye looks like one star, actually consists of binary stars, represented by the two large metal disks. The planetary systems of these stars are are represented by the onyx and mother of pearl stones. Tantalisingly, the Dogon tribe knew about the binary star system of Sirius long before it was discovered, which raises the question, how? All we know is, it gave us a great idea for a cufflink to add to the range, and why not.
